The SF Junior Glens Micro program is designed for players pre-K through 1st grade. It introduces the game, builds basic soccer and motor skills, encourages social interaction, and inspires a genuine love for the sport.
Our ultimate goal is to instill a natural love for soccer that the whole family enjoys—not just the player. The program is carefully designed to teach the fundamentals through fun practice activities that build confidence with the ball and keep the game enjoyable.
Over the years, the San Francisco Glens have developed many top youth players, and it starts here: introducing kids early, teaching them to love controlling the ball, and building confidence through fun, engaging repetition. For more details, visit the Micro Program FAQ.
We also offer the MLS GO program for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, featuring eight 90-minute Sunday sessions that combine practice and gameplay in a fun, engaging format.

Competition: Club, school, and independently run/parent teams, all games in San Francisco
Not included in the fee:

Uniform for new players (approximately $25–$30)

SF Micro Soccer League registration fee ($68 per player, set by the SF Micro Soccer League, run by the SF Vikings Club)
Registration
Registration for the Fall season begins in mid-April, and registration for the Spring season begins in November. Check the current season listing for open dates and availability.
There are two ways to sign up:
School-based team: If you have at least 10 players who attend the same school and want to practice nearby, have a team manager or school sports coordinator reach out to grassroots@sfglenssc.org to start the process.
SF Glens free agent team: Free agent players can join a Glens micro team individually. Sign up and pay a $100 deposit to secure a spot; the deposit applies toward the season fee. If we're unable to form a team by the deadline, the $100 deposit is refunded.

What Is the Maguire Method?
We call it the "Maguire Method" after Pat Maguire, our longtime coach and former Director of the Micro Academy. The method involves careful, continual repetition of specific ball-manipulation and body-movement patterns, giving countless kids the technical foundation, balance, and confidence to start their soccer careers a few clear steps ahead of the pack.
