Financial Aid
The San Francisco Glens maintain a financial aid budget so that players can participate in club soccer regardless of playing level or socioeconomic status. Because funds are limited, aid is awarded based on demonstrated need, with priority given to the families who need it most for as long as the budget remains available.
To apply, please use the link below. You must provide and upload supporting documents in order to qualify for SF Glens financial aid.
Guaranteed Financial Aid
We offer a 50% scholarship to any player whose household income is equal to or less than 250% of the current Federal Poverty Level, as determined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Federal Poverty Guidelines for the current year.
The current income thresholds are published on our application and scholarship guidelines. As a general reference,
250% of the Federal Poverty Level is calculated as follows:
-
Family of 2, 3, 4, and each size above: see the current guidelines linked above for exact figures
-
A set amount is added for each additional family member beyond the base household sizes
Because these figures are updated annually by the federal government, please refer to the current scholarship guidelines for the exact thresholds that apply to your application.
We offer a 100% scholarship to up to 2 players per team who meet the income standard above and participate in at least 2 of the following:
-
Medi-Cal — provide current Notice of Action letter
-
CalWORKs — provide current Notice of Action letter
-
CalFresh — provide current Notice of Action letter
-
Public Housing Authority — provide rent receipt
Guaranteed financial aid applies only to Travel Competitive Programs.
Additional Financial Aid
We encourage all families to apply for financial aid, even if they do not meet the income guidelines above. We also ask families to support the club by volunteering for various activities.
Typical volunteer opportunities include:
-
STAR Referee
-
Team Parent Manager
-
Assisting at USL2 games
-
Administrative support at the SF Glens office
-
Volunteering at SF Glens events such as tryouts, the end-of-year BBQ, and other club-hosted activities
Volunteer opportunities are shared with families receiving additional financial aid as they become available. Families are responsible for taking the initiative to fulfill their volunteer commitment on time. Families who receive guaranteed financial aid are encouraged to volunteer but are not required to.
