US CLUB SOCCER REQUIREMENT - NorCal League
For coaches for the teams playing on NorCal Premier League via Gotsport
1. Become “SafeSport Trained.”
The U.S. Center for SafeSport online training covers the following subjects: sexual abuse, hazing, bullying, emotional misconduct, physical misconduct, harassment (non-sexual) as well as reporting obligations. There are three modules required to become “SafeSport Trained”: a) Mandatory Reporting: Understanding Your Responsibilities; b) Sexual Misconduct Awareness Education; and c) Emotional and Physical Misconduct.
2. Complete background screening - Please send kay@sfglenssc.org an email with the receipt to get reimbursed.
Beyond a variety of national sources, our level of screening generally includes a direct county/state of residence criminal record search for all counties in which an individual has lived within the past seven years, regardless of whether any “hits” appear on the national database searches.

SF Youth Soccer (SFYS) LEAGUE REQUIREMENT
SFYS league staff registration requirement
1. You need a coaching license to coach SFYS SF Comp team(s) or recreational team(s) - coaching license requirement
2. Register with SQWAD
3. Complete background check : RSI Self Report: Click the link to submit your information (NOTE: must select “San Francisco Youth SFYS” under Club) (expires after three years)
4. Complete LiveScan : Please upload the completion page to your profile in SQWAD under your profile

LiveScan Fingerprinting: Click the link for more detailed information and instructions. (NOTE: must select “SAN FRAN YSA - SAN FRANCISCO YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION” under Area/Club) (you only need to get scanned once for any SAY affiliated organization unless you take a break from coaching/managing)
FAQ: I’ve already done a background check for another sports team/school/volunteer opportunity, do I need to get fingerprinted again for SFYS? Yes. US privacy laws prevent separate organizations from sharing the results of background checks with each other.
There are currently two other SAY Soccer affiliated organizations in SF: Microsoccer and Mission Youth Soccer League. If you’ve completed a background check or fingerprinting through either of those organizations, send us an email with your full legal name–we’ll see if we can access those results.
5. Complete Safesports online course
